Christmas Morning

Crying Doll

Christmas 3x

Addison first celebrated Christmas with a trip to Palisade to see Grandma Nancy and her Aunts and Uncle. She also celebrated her early birthday that weekend too.

The same weekend we traveled back on Sunday to have Christmas with Grandma Nancy in Peru, Aunt and Uncle and Cousins. She also got this cute outfit from our friends Aaron & Morgan.

We celebrated Christmas day at the house that morning where Addison got a few more gifts and some surprises from Santa. She certainly got the unwrapping part down!

Let It Snow and Snow and Snow

So this was before the big snow. In the spot she's standing now their is a drift higher than her head.

After the snow: I don't think we'll be opening this door for awhile! We did manage to dig a path to get out the other door though. I think my wish for snow on Christmas came early and I think this will be around for awhile!

Santa Visit

So Addison has been saying Santa and Ho, Ho, Ho so I thought for sure she would sit on his lap but we were not so lucky. She did, however, give him "five."

Baby #2

As many of you know we are expecting Baby #2 June 15!

October 14 I found out I was pregnant, or officially anyway. Early on I was having some trouble so went in earlier than my first appointment but everything turned out to be okay as far as they could tell but told me there wasn't much that they could do early on and if I miscarried there wouldn't be much explanation. The following week I began to get very sick, all day long, no appetite for food and too nauseous to look at a computer screen which led me to taking nearly all my sick time from work in October and early November.

My first appointment was on November 18th. I was feeling much better at this point but anxious to hear a heartbeat to know things were okay. They were having trouble finding the heartbeat so we went ahead and did an ultrasound to make sure things were okay and thankfully they were. They told me I was 10 weeks along.

Now at 13 weeks I'm feeling much better except I really have a hard time with foods, nothing seems appetizing. I am hungry but nothing tastes good, which is very frustrating! Of course, everyone keeps saying we're having a boy because of how the pregnancy has gone so far but we'll see. If so, I know Scottie would be very excited. I'm a little nervous, however, a boy would certainly change things!

Thanksgiving

We traveled home to Palisade and had Thanksgiving at Counsin Missy's. Addison had a great time playing with the boys and giving Abby tons of hugs and assisting with the pacifier of course.

I was a little worried how she might react to me holding Abby but she was so sweet with her and just wanted to be the little helper.

Luke and Addison were getting ready to stack baby food jars and before leaving she gave Jacob a bye-bye kiss.

Scottie and Matthew were the "rough-housin buddies."
All in all we had a good time back home. It's always nice seeing family. Addison had a wonderful time and was an excellent traveler this trip!

Halloween

"CHEESE"

We traveled home the weekend prior to decorate pumpkins with Grandma and eat a lovely meal with Great-G-ma Elaine and all the family.

Sabrina came down to visit for Halloween Day. We went to the PSC Homecoming Parade that morning and Addison got tons of candy. She was a Husker cheerleader at the parade and a little cow that evening.

Family Photos

We finally got family photos taken! If you want to check them out got to www.ottemannphotography.com, click on online order and our passcode is our last name. We wanted to get some with the Missouri in the background since we live so close to the river and decided Brownville had some excellent spots to take photos. Thanks Chad and Tonya for meeting us on a Sunday!

Updates...

Just some Addi updates...Addison is very much into puzzles now and loves Mickey Mouse. Every morning she wakes up and says "mouse mamma" so we watch Mickey before leaving that morning. She now repeats everything said and even complete phrases. The other day she told grandma "love you too". I am amazed at how quickly she learns and remembers things. She’s always saying “there ya go” or “where’d it go”, “there you are”. There's no getting things by her that's for sure. We've had to try a few Supernanny techniques but luckily it goes well. She understands time out and is back to sleeping peacefully in her bed...big girl bed now. For a while we had a time trying to figure out why she wasn't sleeping like she used too. Now she loves the new bed and is off to sleep at 8:00 p.m. Our vacation went very well. It was a long drive but Addison didn't complain much, thankfully. She was a real trooper and really enjoyed the rides at the North Pole. We're glad we got to fit a real vacation in before Scottie begins shutdown at the plant. This summer has just been crazy for us as I'm sure most everyone. I hate to see summer go. We've had a lot of fun!

Addison's 1st Vacation

We made our trip to Colorado Springs last Wednesday. We started out by going to Seven Falls. Daddy did really well hauling Addison up the scary stairs.

She really enjoyed playing in the teepee

Ironically, a nice couple from Rockport, MO was visiting also and graciously took our picture.

Apparently there was a Santa Convention going on and some of the Santa's and Mrs. Clauses were staying at our motel so we just had to get a photo. They just loved Addison and gave her an early Christmas gift!

The second day we stopped at the Bear Park Nature Center and hiked a few short trails to find some bears...no such luck though.

We stopped at the GhostTown Museum to pan for gold.

And of course we had to take Addison to the North Pole. She loved going on the rides! We were amazed!

Late afternoon we made the drive up Pikes Peak.
The next day we went to Garden of the Gods where Addison enjoyed playing on the red rocks.

This photo is one of my faves with Addison and Daddy!

We also visited Cave of the Winds and played in the creek a bit. And of course, we had to sport the Husker jersey on game day! All-in-all we had a fun time. It was a lot of driving but a great first vacation!
