Doctor's Visit

Well Miss Addison is now 9 lbs. 8 oz. Her doctor visit went very well. Everyone was impressed at how well she holds her head up and smiles and coos already. I was so relieved to know that she is healthy and I must be doing things right. The doctor assured me that she appears to be a very happy and content baby and that I'm doing good. I don't know what I was so worried for but it's nice to hear she's happy and healthy.

I apologize for not having many photos posted. My computer's pretty slow so it takes some time to even post one and of course while waiting for that Addison needs my attention so it gets a little tough. Once things settle down a bit I'll post tons of pictures. I promise.

Addison likes to be up more during the day so we have fun dancing around, reading books and singing. She loves to smile so it's fun to get her laughing. She's eating and sleeping well taking about 4 oz at each feeding at about every 3 to 4 hours.

Well we thought we'd get everyone updated. I've been sick with a nasty cold since last Saturday and haven't got much done so today I'm finally feeling much better and wanted to make sure you all knew that Addison is doing wonderful. I can't wait for everyone to meet her.

Picture Time

We thought we'd better take some pictures in some of the outfits before she grew out of them. While her eyes were open we were lucky enough to catch a few cute photos.

Unfortanely she wasn't awake for them all but they turned out pretty cute anyway.

This one was just funny so I had to add it.

Addison's Birth

Many have asked how the birth went so I will give you the update. I had a scheduled doctor's appointment on the 26th at 2:00 p.m. where they scheduled me to be induced on the 27th. After my dr.'s appt. I was having closer contractions so we hung around Lincoln for awhile. Once they were about 5 minutes apart we decided to get to the hospital where they put me on the monitors and finally made the decision to keep me overnight and start the Pitocin at 4:00 a.m. From this point on things become a blur as everything went so fast, by 7:00 a.m. the doctor broke my water and contractions were strong and immediate so of course I screamed for the epideral. I went from being dilated to 4 to 8 in a matter of Scottie leaving and returning from breakfast. We were shocked things were moving so fast, by noon I was pushing and Addison arrived at 2:56 p.m.

There were a few scares like not being able to breath because they gave me too much of the epideral, then the baby was in the wrong position so they tried several things to get her to turn but were unsuccessful, once she was born her oxygen level was a little low so they kept her in the nursery for awhile. Apparantly I lost a little too much blood and I kept passing out which prevented me from getting to the nursery to see her so it wasn't until about 6:30 that evening that I got to hold her.

We were finally released on Saturday afternoon after we waited for some tests on Addison. She was a little jaundice but not enough to be under lights so we were okay to go home with specific instructions to get her in to the pediatrician on Monday which we did in Nebraska City where they had to do another blood draw but again levels were low enough to monitor at home.

So now were finally home. We had a lot of company Saturday evening and Sunday and my mom is here now to help out of which I'm very grateful. I don't know how all the laundry and cooking would get done.

It's nice to be home where we're comfortable and can enjoy our time with Addison. Things are going well and we'll keep you updated on Miss Addison.
